How are Essential Oils used?

Essential oils are used in several basic ways -
  • massage and topical application (added to a carrier oil)
  • added to a bath through bath salts or oils
  • inhaled vapors
  • released scent by use of a burner, candle, or spray
  • incorporated into a variety of lotions, cleaners and other products


                                Precautions

  • do not take internally
  • do not apply directly to the skin
  • dilute first in a carrier oil, base lotion, or water
  • if you suffer from epilepsy, skin allergies, are pregnant, or are using homeopathic
    remedies, always seek professional  advice before using
  • keep out of reach of children.  if accidentally swallowed seek immediate medical
    advice
  • if you accidentally get oil in your eyes, wash immediately  with plenty of water and
    seek medical advice
  • asthmatics should avoid directly inhaling undiluted oils
  • oils are flammable. keep away from open flame
  • avoid contact with polished, plastic or painted surfaces
  • always seek the advice of your physician
