How are Essential Oils used?
Essential oils are used in several basic ways -
- massage and topical application (added to a carrier oil)
- added to a bath through bath salts or oils
- inhaled vapors
- released scent by use of a burner, candle, or spray
- incorporated into a variety of lotions, cleaners and other products
Precautions
- do not take internally
- do not apply directly to the skin
- dilute first in a carrier oil, base lotion, or water
- if you suffer from epilepsy, skin allergies, are pregnant, or are using homeopathic
remedies, always seek professional advice before using
- keep out of reach of children. if accidentally swallowed seek immediate medical
advice
- if you accidentally get oil in your eyes, wash immediately with plenty of water and
seek medical advice
- asthmatics should avoid directly inhaling undiluted oils
- oils are flammable. keep away from open flame
- avoid contact with polished, plastic or painted surfaces
